DOT

The Dot is about a student who learns that anyone can draw. It only takes a dot to create a whole gallery of art.

Activity:

This book lets students know that anything can be art, so let them explore that. An activity to do this, is to let them explore with different types of drawing utensils; pens, different sizes of brushes, chalk, etc. However, instead of letting them free draw, encourage them to only draw random lines, dots and shapes. Instead of drawing a scene focus on the elements and principles of design. Have them create chaos and then talk about that chaos and what their peers think about each others work.
