Create your own Van Gogh masterpiece with tissue paper, glue and crayons. After learning about Vincent Van Gogh, jot down a few fun facts. Using ripped and cut tissue paper, glue it on to a dark piece of construction paper, gel glue works best. After the tissue paper is done drying use crayons, oil pastels work best to make swirls and other lines on top of the tissue paper. This should look like the sky. After that you can use other dark colors of construction paper to create a picture using shadows of objects and landscapes.
Extra activity: To create more amazing projects, look into other artists of this era and the era after, are there other artists that use similar techniques to Van Gogh? How does their art compare to his? Are there differences between the artists? As a class look more into different artists and compare and contrast their art styles and then make an art piece based on a technique you like
